Inner Foundation Method

See what is shaping your life.
Decide what you want to create.
Train what will help you create it.

The Inner Foundation Method is a 12-module, practice-based course. Clarify what you want, understand what is shaping your current experience, and train access to the thoughts and emotional states that support what you want to create.

People Begin Inner Work for Different Reasons

Something may keep going wrong, even though you understand it.

You may know what you want and find it difficult to follow through.

You may be facing a change, decision, or opportunity and want to prepare for it.

Or life may already be going well, and you want to become more deliberate about what you create next.

The Inner Foundation Method does not decide what should matter to you. You look at what is happening now, decide what you want, and train what will help you move toward it.

You May Notice the Gap in Ordinary Moments

You begin the day knowing what matters, but pressure and whatever feels urgent take over your attention.

One conversation changes how you feel, and you carry that into the rest of your day.

You know how you want to handle a situation, but once you are in it, you find yourself thinking, feeling, or acting the same way you have before.

You may understand what happened afterward. The training helps you become aware of it earlier—and practice another way of meeting it.

Why Training Matters

Insight can change what you see. Training changes what becomes available.

A book, podcast, video, or retreat can help you see something differently. But understanding it once does not guarantee that you will be able to use it while making a difficult decision, trying to follow through, or working with a strong emotion.

Training turns what you understand into something you can practice, strengthen, and use in your life.

How the Training Works

The Inner Foundation Method is a self-paced course with 12 modules. Move through the course in order the first time. Later, you can return to individual modules when you want to revisit a particular part of the training.

Each module combines focused teaching, guided inner training, reflection, and short practices you can use throughout your day. You learn what you are training, practice it directly, and then bring the practice into your life.

What You Train in the Course

The course begins by helping you decide what you want to experience and create. This gives the rest of the training a direction.

Decide what you want

Clarify what you want and begin using it to guide your focus, decisions, and actions.

See what is shaping your experience

Become more aware of your thoughts, beliefs, conditioning, emotional states, and familiar reactions—and how they affect what you experience and create.

Interrupt and redirect

Learn to use the breath to interrupt a reaction and create enough space to choose where you focus and what you do next.

Strengthen what helps you move toward it

Train access to the thoughts and emotional states that help you move toward what you want to create, so they become more available as you make decisions and take action.

Bring the training into your life

Use the training in your work, relationships, decisions, and daily routines. Practice directing your attention, accessing emotional states that support your vision, and choosing your actions.

Along the way, recognize what has changed. Notice when your attention returns to old thoughts and reactions, redirect it, and decide what you want to create next.

Progress Does Not Require Old Patterns to Disappear

A familiar thought, emotion, or reaction may still arise. The difference is that you may notice it earlier and have a way to work with it before it shapes what you do.

When you lose connection to what you want, you can practice returning. Over time, what you have trained can become easier to access when you need it.

What Students Say About The Inner Foundation Method

“What I loved most about this program is that I’ve learned to stop and become aware of all that is going on inside me prior to reacting. I've learned things I can use the rest of my life. I consciously breathe now when I'm stressed. I feel like I've become kinder and more patient—with myself and with others. I'm more aware of when I'm not present—and I'm able to bring myself back to the moment. I noticed that over the past few months my anxiety level has decreased and my relationships have improved. I feel more confident that I'm able to achieve anything I set my mind to.”

Scott H.

“When I started the program, I was feeling very emotional and unstable at work. I often cried and thought about quitting my job. I didn't know how to handle my emotions. But now, things are much better. I feel peaceful and confident at work, and I've learned how to express my emotions in a healthier way. I'm proud of what I'm accomplishing and I feel comfortable in my leadership role. I've also learned how to manage my time and energy better, which has given me more bandwidth in life.”

Jessica E.

“The Inner Foundation Method literally saved my marriage of 34 years. My wife and I were on the verge of divorce...constantly bickering, criticizing, and blaming each other. By applying the skills we learned from the program, we have completely transformed our relationship. I cannot thank Mike enough for everything.”

Why I Created The Inner Foundation Method

My understanding of practice has been shaped by three decades of training in Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Qigong, as well as years of teaching and working with students and coaching clients.

I kept seeing the same gap in my own life and in my work with other people: understanding what to do is different from being able to do it.

I created The Inner Foundation Method to give people a way to turn what they understand into something they can practice. The course brings together the training I use to work with thoughts, emotions, and focus—and bring that training into everyday life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need experience with inner work?

No. The course explains each part of the training and gives you a way to practice it directly.

Do I need to know exactly what I want before I begin?

No. You may already have something in mind. If you do not, the first part of the course helps you decide what you want to experience and create.

What if I have trouble staying consistent?

If you stop practicing, you can begin again. The course includes short practices you can use throughout your day, and returning is part of the training.

Do I need to complete the modules in order?

Move through the 12 modules in order the first time. Afterward, you can return to individual modules when you want to revisit a particular part of the training.

Does this mean I am responsible for everything that happens in my life?

No. You cannot control every circumstance, outcome, or choice another person makes.

The Inner Foundation Method focuses on what you can train: where you place your attention, the thoughts and emotional states you practice, and what becomes available as you make decisions and take action.

This does not give you control over everything that happens. It helps you become more conscious of what you bring to what happens—and what you create from there.

How is The Inner Foundation Method different from The Relational Key?

The Inner Foundation Method focuses on the relationship you have with yourself: what shapes your thoughts, emotions, focus, and actions, and what you want to create in your life.

The Relational Key focuses on what you want to experience and create in relationships, what you bring to them, and what becomes possible when you change how you participate.

Each course stands on its own. Begin with the area you most want to work on.

Is this therapy?

No. The Inner Foundation Method is an educational training course. It is not therapy, medical care, or a substitute for professional mental-health treatment.

How long will I have access?

You receive lifetime access, including future course updates at no additional cost.
